Gas Malaysia Berhad is seeking a QA/QC inspector to ensure conformance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, and company requirements. You will manage documentation, perform audits, and drive the QA/QC program on site.
Diploma in Engineering with 5+ years in QAQC is required, plus CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI. Strong English and Bahasa Malaysia communications are essential.

Perform site quality inspections surveillance witnessing and verification to confirm that materials workmanship testing and records comply with approved drawings specifications ITPs procedures applicable codes and Company requirements. Identify and report nonconforming work promptly and support timely closeout of inspection records and quality findings. Assist in the coordination and promotion of safety, health, environment and quality management program with internal employees, contractors, authorities and the communities. Ensure effective implementation of HSEQMS, ISMS & ABACMS within Gas Malaysia's scope of control.
Enforce QAQC procedures to ensure compliance with Company standards and project requirements and monitor the implementation of approved QAQC policies and procedures in order to ensure continued conformance to ISO standards, industry guidelines and other statutory requirements
Implement the established procedures with time limits for inspection, sampling and testing of works and all other QAQC requirements, implementation and monitoring of quality assessments, and provide monthly QAQC reports to the Manager HSEQ and Project Manager on project activities
Execute internal and external quality audits, ensuring all activities conform with standards and procedures, recommend and follow-up on the non-conformance, opportunity for improvement, and corrective action
Manage QAQC documents of the complete project, including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-conformance reports and site instruction/observations, and identify, document, and address non-conformances
Verify all standards to perform inspections and tests on all procedures, oversee all testing methods, maintain high-quality standards for all processes, and assess and monitor the quality of materials supplied by vendors
Provide training and guidance to project teams on QAQC standards, procedures, and best practices and assist staff, vendors and contractors in ensuring knowledge of all quality standards
Ensure all QAQC activities adhere to HSEQ regulations and standards, promoting a safe working environment, and take proactive measures to identify hazards, assess the risk, and implement suitable control measures
Ensure subcontractors comply with the requirements of the HSEQ Management System and understand, comply with and apply the ABMS requirements
Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Welding) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, construction or maintenance
Mandatory CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI or equivalent welding inspection qualification
Minimum five years of relevant experience in QAQC inspection, engineering, construction, fabrication, installation or maintenance, preferably within the oil and gas, energy, utility or industrial sectors
Experience working in accordance with an established Quality Management System and applicable project quality requirements
Experience in ISO 9001 internal or external audit
Working knowledge of applicable codes such as ASME B31.3 ASME Section IX API 1104 AWS D1.1 and project specifications
Ability to read piping isometrics, piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), GA drawings weld maps, line lists, test packs and mechanical datasheets
Familiar with VT PT MT RT and UT principles limitations reporting and applicable acceptance criteria
Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken, written and presentational)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for risk assessment and compliance monitoring
