  • Diploma or degree in Engineering (Construction/Mechanical/Electrical/Quality) required.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, quality tools, and QMS audit practices.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and standards; good communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC processes and documentation.
  • Lead internal and support external audits to ISO and client standards.
  • Prepare inspection plans, ITPs and method statements; coordinate site inspections.
  • Manage NCR, CAPA, and ensure non-conformances are closed.
  • Support continuous improvement and liaise with clients and contractors.

QA-QC Engineer (Electrical - Instrumentation)

The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all quality assurance and quality control processes meet regulatory and company standards. This role involves preparing inspection plans, executing quality checks, managing documentation, liaising with clients and contractors, and driving continuous improvement across projects or production.

Job Scope & Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance Duties:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 or relevant standards.
  • Prepare quality plans, inspection test plans (ITP), and method statements.
  • Ensure incoming materials, in-process work, and finished products meet specified requirements.
  • Lead internal audits and support external audits (e.g., ISO, client, third-party).
  • Manage and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Provide training to staff on quality standards and requirements.
2. Quality Control Duties:
  • Conduct site or production inspections and material sampling to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Perform quality checks on welding, electrical (based on discipline).
  • Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and follow up on Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain QA/QC documentation, including inspection reports, calibration certificates, and test results.
  • Liaise with consultants, clients, and regulatory bodies on quality matters.
  • Ensure testing and commissioning activities comply with quality requirements.
3. Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain and control QA/QC records and documents.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly quality reports for management and client review.
  • Coordinate with site teams and subcontractors for timely submission of quality documentation (e.g., work inspection requests – WIR, material inspection requests – MIR).
4. Compliance & Standards:
  • Ensure all work complies with local and international standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM, JKR, CIDB, DOSH).
  • Verify that project activities comply with contractual quality requirements and technical specifications.
  • Monitor third-party test results and verify material certifications.
5. Others:
  • Participate in kick-off meetings, site toolbox meetings, and quality briefings.
  • Monitor and review subcontractor’s quality activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical support for process enhancements.
  • Diploma/Degree in Engineering (Construction / Mechanical / Electrical / Quality or related).
  • At least 2–5 years of relevant QA/QC experience in the construction, electrical, or engineering industry.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001, quality tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone), and QMS audit practices.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, standards, and specifications.
  • Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is a plus).
  • Knowledge of relevant testing methods, standards, and reporting tools.
