Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a QC Inspector to perform comprehensive inspections across fabrication and manufacturing processes. The role emphasizes adherence to customer specifications, ITPs, and quality standards with emphasis on welding and dimensional checks.

The ideal candidate holds a mechanical engineering diploma/certificate and at least 2 years of QC experience in relevant industries, able to read drawings and prepare accurate reports. Overtime and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, Manufacturing or related field.
• Minimum 2 years working experience as a QC Inspector in fabrication, manufacturing, pressure vessel, tank or oil & gas industry.
• Knowledge of fabrication processes, welding inspection and quality control procedures.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
• Familiar with inspection standards, ISO 9001 Quality Management System and quality documentation.
• Knowledge of ASME, API, AWS or other relevant codes and standards is an added advantage.
• Experience in preparing inspection reports, NCR and quality documentation.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to work independently, under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Willing to work overtime and travel to project sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process and final inspections on fabrication and manufacturing activities
• Inspect welding, fit-up, dimensional accuracy and workmanship in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards
• Conduct visual inspection and verify compliance with approved Inspection & Test Plan (ITP)
• Prepare and maintain quality inspection reports, checklists, punch lists and inspection records
• Monitor Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), corrective actions and follow-up inspections
• Coordinate inspections with Production, Engineering, Clients and Third-Party Inspectors
• Verify material identification, traceability and Mill Test Certificates (MTC)
• Witness testing activities including Hydro Test, Pneumatic Test and other required inspections where applicable
• Report quality issues to the QA/QC Engineer or QA/QC Manager and recommend corrective actions
• Ensure measuring and inspection equipment are properly calibrated before use
