Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a QA/QC Engineer to ensure HV substations meet quality standards and customer specs across design, procurement, construction and commissioning.

You will implement quality plans, perform inspections, coordinate testing, and manage NCRs with cross‑functional teams. Based in Cyberjaya, travel to sites and suppliers may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in HV substation projects (GIS/AIS).
• Experience in QA/QC roles within EPC, OEM, or utility environments.
• Knowledge of IEC standards and HV testing procedures.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and QMS processes.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Description

The QA/QC Engineer ensures that high-voltage (HV) substation projects are executed with full compliance to quality standards, customer specifications, and international regulations. The role supports project quality planning, inspection, testing, documentation, and supplier quality activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

1. Project Quality Execution

• Implement project quality plans, ITPs, and inspection procedures for HV systems.
• Ensure all engineering deliverables and site works comply with applicable quality standards and IEC requirements.
• Support quality risk assessments and ensure mitigation actions are executed.

2. Inspection & Testing

• Conduct inspections for incoming HV materials and equipment (GIS, AIS, transformers, switchgear).
• Perform site quality checks during installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Support FAT/SAT activities and verify compliance with technical specifications.

3. Non-Conformance & CAPA Management

• Identify, document, and track non-conformances (NCRs).
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Ensure closure of NCRs within defined timelines.

4. Supplier Quality Support

• Assist in supplier qualification and audits for HV components.
• Monitor supplier performance and verify compliance of delivered materials.

5. Quality Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain quality records, inspection reports, test results, and audit documentation.
• Provide regular updates on quality status, risks, and improvement actions.
• Ensure documentation is audit-ready and aligned with QMS requirements.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with engineering, project management, procurement, and site teams.
• Support customer inspections and acceptance processes.
• Communicate quality issues clearly and propose actionable solutions.
