QAQC Engineer - Electrical (Data Center)
TECO Electric & Machinery – Kuala Selangor, Selangor
We are seeking a detail-oriented QAQC Engineer to support quality assurance and quality control activities for data center projects, specifically on the MEP packages covering Core & Shell Electrical Equipment & Works, MV Genset installation and Data Hall HVAC erection Works. Optionally should knowledge of IT Fibre / Cat6 cabling / racking and ELV Systems would be added an advantage .
The role is responsible for ensuring all electrical and M&E works are executed in compliance with project QAQC’s requirements aligned with specifications & approved / IFC drawings.
Job Description:
1. Planning & Implementation
- Develop and review the QAQC guidelines provided by Client in line with manufacturer QAQC procedures and standards.
- Ensure full compliance of product specification, approved drawings, and relevant international standards (IEC, IEEE, TIA, Uptime Institute, etc.)
- Participate in project coordination, plan technical walkdown, and QAQC weekly meetings as required by the Client.
2. Document Review & Approval
- Review and verify: Method Statements (MS), Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Material Submittals, MRI, AFI, FOAK, Mock Up papers, IMTE and NCR.
- Produce all necessary QAQC procedures for each electrical equipment on steps of installation and inspection demarcation.
- Ensure all documents are in approved status prior to any site inspection.
3. Site Inspection & Quality Verification
- Conduct walkdowns, inspections, audits, and verification of any direct or indirect of electrical equipment and installation including: Delivery acceptance, logistic documentation, unloading, storage & preservation if required, and any internal transportation of equipment to installation site
- Installation and termination verification against pre-approved check list of any MEP systems, inclusive of MV/LV components, UPS, transformers, generators, switchgear, and LV distribution boards, busduct, cable containment, etc.
- Cable laying, routing, termination verification, until related QAQC L2 static test activities & EHS compliances.
Maintain inspection records, upload documents in ACC and ensure all level CxL2 are signed
4. Non-Conformance & Corrective Action Control
- Identify, raise, and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Follow up and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants for resolution of quality issues.
5. Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives on all quality-related matters.
- Attend site inspections, coordination meetings, and technical discussions as required by project schedule.
- Support clear communication between QAQC, construction, P6, EHS and project management teams.
- Support all commissioning program activities across Cx levels, mainly until CxL2
- Ensure systems are properly inspected and verified prior to testing and commissioning stages.
- Assist in ensuring readiness of electrical systems for commissioning activities.
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in QAQC, preferably in data center, M&E, or construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems including MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, and associated infrastructure.
- Familiar with QAQC processes and documentation (ITP, WIR, MAR, NCR, etc.).
- Knowledge of M&E systems (Electrical, HVAC, ELV) is an advantage.
- Experience in data center projects (Tier III / Tier IV environment) is highly preferred.
- Good communication, coordination, and site management skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Familiarity with QAQC/document control systems.
