Job summary

VTECH COMMUNICATIONS (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. (MERLIMAU) is seeking a procurement professional to manage end-to-end purchasing activities, supplier relationships, and supply chain optimization.

You will handle purchase requisitions, source suppliers, and negotiate pricing for production materials and services. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2–3 years of purchasing or procurement experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 2–3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement in manufacturing or logistics.
• Familiarity with SAP/ERP purchasing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review purchase requisitions, source suppliers, request quotations, and issue purchase orders for production materials, indirect goods, tooling and factory services.
• Evaluate vendor performance on cost, quality, and delivery speed while mitigating shortages and resolving shipping or invoice discrepancies.
• Secure competitive pricing and lead times to identify cost-saving opportunities and support budget targets.
• Partner with warehouse, production, engineering, finance and PMC teams to maintain seamless material planning and resolve logistical bottlenecks.
• Maintain purchasing records (invoices, B/L, packing lists) in SAP in compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
• Participate in team initiatives to streamline purchasing workflows and optimize supply chain efficiency.

Key responsibilities

Review purchase requisitions, source suppliers, request quotations, and accurately issue purchase orders for production materials, indirect goods, tooling and factory services

Evaluate vendor performance on cost, quality, and delivery speed while mitigating shortages and resolving shipping or invoice discrepancies

Secure competitive pricing and lead times to identify cost-saving opportunities and support company budget targets

Partner closely with warehouse, production, engineering, finance and PMC team to maintain seamless material planning and resolve logistical bottlenecks

Maintain flawless purchasing record (invoices, B/L, packing lists) in company SAP systems in compliance with Malaysian regulatory and audit requirements

Participate in team initiatives to streamline purchasing workflows, reduce lead times, and optimize supply chain efficiency

About you

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering or a related field

Minimum 2 to 3 years' experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing support

Familiar with SAP or ERP purchasing system is preferred

Good command in English, Mandarin and Malay. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Familiarity with Malaysian import documentation, customs procedures and local regulatory compliances
