Menz & Gasser Asia invites a meticulous Purchasing Executive to join our Malaysia procurement team in Bestari Jaya. You will support the Head of Purchasing in daily operations and drive strategic sourcing to secure quality materials at favorable terms.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, 3+ years in food manufacturing purchasing, and strong negotiation skills. Proficiency with ERP LN Info System and MS Office is a plus, along with GMP/HACCP knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Assist the Head of Purchasing in overseeing daily operations within the Purchasing Department to ensure seamless procurement activities.
Efficient Operations: Perform day-to-day purchasing operations effectively and efficiently within company policies and procedures.
Procurement Planning and Negotiation: Plan, source, select, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best purchase prices and credit terms while upholding high standards of quality and service. Monitor procurement markets for new materials, price trends, purchasing conditions, and supplier offerings.
Supplier Management: Identify and engage new potential vendors and suppliers to enhance the cost-effectiveness of product and service sourcing. Conduct supplier performance evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with quality and service standards. Address and resolve complaints and credit issues related to raw materials, additives, packaging, and other materials.
Collaboration and Coordination: Liaise with other departments to source and purchase direct and indirect materials essential for production and operations. Work closely with the Admin & HR Department to ensure timely processing and release of supplier payments.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records, reports, and statistics to ensure proper documentation control and transparency. Provide regular updates and insights to the Head of Purchasing on procurement activities and market trends.
Supply Chain Oversight: Oversee the local supply process, including sourcing raw materials, additives, packaging, and other operational materials required for production and sales.
Market Research and Analysis: Research and analyze economic trends, currency fluctuations, and raw material availability to inform purchasing strategies.
Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Food Science, Food Technology, Business Studies, Finance, Economics or Management
Work Experience: A buyer or purchaser role in food manufacturing, preferable with at least 3 years of experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Core Competencies: Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with proven experience in procurement and sourcing activities.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Team Player: Can work both independently and collaboratively as a valuable member of a dynamic team.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding of GMP, HACCP, and QMS standards; experience in the food manufacturing industry is a plus.
ERP Knowledge: Familiarity with LN Info System and related practices.
Multilingual Skills: Proficiency in written and spoken English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin to facilitate effective communication in a diverse work environment. Candidates who are fluent in Mandarin are preferred as the role requires interaction with Mandarin-speaking clients.
