Private Advertiser is seeking an experienced Purchasing Executive to support project and office requirements in the engineering sector focused on fire fighting and fire protection systems.
The role involves sourcing suppliers, obtaining RFQs, negotiating terms, issuing POs, and coordinating deliveries for project sites and offices in Sabah region.
An established engineering company specialising in fire fighting and fire protection systems is seeking an experienced Purchasing Executive to support project and operational requirements.
Manage day-to-day purchasing and procurement for project, site and office requirements.
Source, evaluate and develop reliable local and overseas suppliers for materials, equipment and services.
Obtain RFQs, prepare price comparisons and recommend suppliers based on price, specification, quality, availability, delivery and commercial terms.
Negotiate pricing, discounts, credit terms, lead times, warranties and delivery conditions.
Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (PO) accurately and ensure proper approval.
Coordinate closely with Project Managers, site teams, engineering personnel and management on material requirements and delivery dates.
Monitor outstanding POs and expedite suppliers to prevent material shortages or project delays.
Coordinate deliveries to office, warehouse and project sites, including outstation projects.
Verify supplied materials against approved specifications, quantities, brands/models and project requirements.
Handle incorrect items, damaged materials, shortages, delayed deliveries and supplier non-conformance.
Minimum THREE (3) YEARS of relevant Purchasing / Procurement working experience is COMPULSORY.
Experience in construction, engineering, M&E, building services or fire protection will be given strong preference.
Hands-on experience in supplier sourcing, RFQ, quotation comparison, negotiation, PO preparation and delivery follow-up.
Experience purchasing technical, construction or engineering materials is highly preferred.
Able to understand basic product specifications, brands/models, quantities and project material requirements.
Strong negotiation, cost-comparison and supplier-management skills.
Strong follow-up ability and able to handle urgent project requirements.
Organised, detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate purchasing records.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and standard office applications.
Valid driving licence and own transportation.
