Job summary

IKAGU Furniture SDN BHD is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Executive to join our Bakri, Johor procurement team. You will source quality products, manage supplier relationships, and prepare purchase orders while ensuring compliance with company policies.

You will help optimize costs, monitor deliveries, and support inventory control across our manufacturing operations. Ideal candidates hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain, with at least 3 years in

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3 years of experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain role within manufacturing or furniture industry.
• Strong knowledge of procurement practices, supplier management and inventory control principles.
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with suppliers.
• Proficiency in using Autocount system and Microsoft Office.
• Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Attention to detail and accuracy when processing purchase orders and managing supplier documentation.
• Professional integrity and commitment to ethical procurement practices.
• Experience with quality assurance and compliance requirements is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Identifying, evaluating and selecting reliable suppliers and vendors based on quality, cost and delivery performance.
• Preparing and issuing purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
• Negotiating contract terms, pricing and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve optimal value for money.
• Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining records of quality, timeliness and compliance metrics.
• Coordinating with internal departments and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Conducting market research and analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and new suppliers.
• Processing invoices and resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, delivery notes and invoices.
• Maintaining accurate inventory records and communicating stock levels to relevant departments.
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships and favourable terms.
• Updating materials detail on time for annual stock take purpose.
• Preparing and in charge admin documentation.
