We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Executive to join the procurement team at Pressco Design & Build Sdn. Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru, Johor. As a Purchasing Executive, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement function, ensuring that all materials, equipment, and services are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively to support our manufacturing and logistics operations. Your strategic procurement decisions will directly impact our operational efficiency and profitability.
Key responsibilities
- Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards
- Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing and delivery schedules
- Processing purchase orders and managing the ordering cycle from requisition to receipt
- Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with warehouse and operations teams to prevent stockouts and excess inventory
- Maintaining accurate purchasing records and documentation in compliance with company policies
- Liaising with internal departments to understand material and equipment requirements
- Tracking supplier performance and addressing any quality or delivery issues
- Maintaining positive relationships with existing suppliers while continuously seeking new sourcing opportunities
- Preparing purchasing reports and providing regular updates on procurement activities and cost savings
- Ensuring compliance with procurement regulations and company purchasing procedures
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management roles
- Proficiency in procurement software and systems, with strong knowledge of inventory management practices
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain positive supplier relationships
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in processing purchase orders and maintaining records
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Malay
- Knowledge of manufacturing or logistics operations is highly desirable
- Computer proficiency, including MS Office and ERP systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- A relevant qualification in procurement, supply chain management, or business administration is preferred
