Job summary

Private Advertiser seeks an experienced purchasing professional to manage supplier sourcing, quotations, and contract execution in Malaysia. You will input and release POs in ERP, expedite orders, and work with quality, engineering, warehouse, production, and finance to optimize inventory while building a local supplier base.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing experience; chemical industry is a plus.
• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Familiar with MRO market/supply source in Malaysia.
• Strong communication, negotiation and sourcing skills; MS Office and ERP proficiency.
• Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin speakers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Request for quotation from project team and negotiate with suppliers.
• Initiate contract/agreement; input PO in ERP and release PO.
• Expedite the PO implementation and ensure timely delivery.
• Cooperate with quality and engineering to resolve material quality issues.
• Work with warehouse/production/finance to optimize inventory.
• Source and develop new suppliers; build approved vendor list in Malaysia.
• Follow up supplier delivery on-time and conduct supplier performance appraisals.
• Adhere to Malaysian Contract Act and company compliance policies.
• Document RFQ, PO, contracts and maintain audit trails.
• Enforce IP/business confidentiality via Need-to-Know principle.
• Achieve related work designated by the purchase manager.
