Ray Tech (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Purchase Assistant (Bilinguals) to join our Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory team in Johor Bahru District. You will manage purchase orders, liaise with suppliers and maintain inventory records while using your bilingual skills to communicate across the supply chain.

The role supports procurement operations in a manufacturing and logistics environment, offering exposure to supplier negotiations, documentation and data entry. Full-time position in Johor.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in at least two languages, with strong written and verbal communication in English and Malay; Mandarin is a plus.
• Experience in purchasing, procurement or administrative roles (manufacturing/logistics preferred).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems and procurement software is a plus.
• Excellent numeracy skills and accuracy with financial data.
• Proactive, independent and team-oriented approach.
• Understanding of supply chain principles and best practices in procurement.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Processing and managing purchase orders from initiation through delivery and invoicing.

About the role

Ray Tech (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Purchase Assistant (Bilinguals) to join our Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory team. This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru District, Johor. As a Purchase Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our procurement operations by managing purchase orders, liaising with suppliers, and maintaining inventory records. Your ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages will be essential in our diverse supply chain environment. This role offers the opportunity to develop your procurement skills whilst contributing directly to the efficiency and success of our manufacturing and logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

• Processing and managing purchase orders from initiation through to delivery and invoice reconciliation


• Communicating with suppliers to obtain quotations, negotiate terms, and clarify order specifications


• Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, stock movements, and supplier information


• Assisting with the coordination of goods receipt and quality checks upon delivery


• Preparing procurement documentation including purchase requisitions, delivery notes, and reports


• Monitoring supplier performance and following up on delayed or problematic shipments


• Supporting the procurement team with administrative tasks and data entry


• Liaising with internal departments to understand purchasing requirements and timelines


• Maintaining compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures

What we're looking for

• Proficiency in at least two languages, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Malay, Mandarin is a plus (or other relevant languages)


• Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or administrative role (ideally in manufacturing or logistics)


• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word


• Knowledge of inventory management systems and procurement software (preferred but not essential)


• Excellent numeracy skills and accuracy in handling financial data and figures
