Job summary

Projet Technology Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Purchasing Executive to join our procurement team at Batu Kawan, Penang. This full-time role focuses on sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials and services to support manufacturing and logistics operations.

You will manage supplier relationships, prepare purchase orders, track inventory, and ensure cost efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery while aligning with company policies. A diploma or degree and 2–3 years’ experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Commerce or related field.
• 2–3 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing or logistics.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills and ability to build supplier relationships.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities with capability to handle multiple priorities.
• Solid understanding of purchasing procedures, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Ethical procurement practices and integrity.
• Fluency in English; Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin are advantageous.

Responsibilities

About the role

Projet Technology Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Purchasing Executive to join our procurement team on a full-time basis. This role is based in our Batu Kawan, Penang facility and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our supply chain operations. The Purchasing Executive will play a crucial role in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials and services that support our manufacturing and logistics operations. This position is vital to ensuring we maintain cost efficiency, quality standards, and timely delivery of goods whilst supporting the strategic objectives of the organisation.

What you'll be doing

Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards

Preparing detailed purchase orders and managing the procurement process from requisition through to delivery

Negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure the best value for the company

Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining relationships to ensure consistent service delivery

Tracking inventory levels and coordinating with relevant departments to forecast procurement needs

Maintaining accurate purchasing records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes

Resolving supplier issues, managing discrepancies, and facilitating problem resolution

Collaborating with internal teams including warehouse, production, and finance to ensure smooth operations

Analysing spending patterns and identifying cost-saving opportunities

Ensuring compliance with company procurement policies and relevant regulations

Customer Coordination (Secondary Role)

Assist in responding to customer inquiries regarding order status, delivery schedules, and product availability.

Coordinate internally with Sales, Warehouse, and Operations teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

Follow up on customer requests and provide timely updates.

Support customer order processing and documentation when required.

Maintain professional communication with local and multinational customers.

What we're looking for

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Commerce or a related field

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within manufacturing or logistics sectors

Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build effective supplier relationships

Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office applications

Excellent organisational and time management abilities with capability to handle multiple priorities

Solid understanding of purchasing procedures, inventory management, and supply chain principles

Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation

Problem-solving abilities and proactive approach to identifying improvements

Integrity and commitment to maintaining ethical procurement practices

Fluency in English; Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin Chinese are advantageous
