Job summary

PLUS Malaysia seeks a Protégé Quantity Surveyor for an on-site internship in Subang Jaya. You will assist in cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender docs for expressway projects, while monitoring costs and maintaining accurate quantities and records.

You will coordinate with project teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure compliance with standards and financial controls. Pursue or recently completed QS/Civil/Construction degree is expected.

Role Description The Protégé Quantity Surveyor internship role is an on-site position based in Subang Jaya. Interns will support the preparation of cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for expressway construction, maintenance, and upgrading projects. The role involves assisting in measurement of work, verification of contractor claims, and monitoring project costs against budgets. Interns will help review contracts and variation orders, compile project progress reports, and maintain accurate records of quantities and costs. The position also includes coordinating with project teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure compliance with standards, timelines, and financial controls.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in quantity surveying or related fields, including measurement, cost estimation, and contract administration.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications, with attention to detail in quantifying work.
• Competence in using Microsoft Office and basic quantity surveying or construction-related software.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with project teams and external stakeholders.
• Organizational and analytical skills to manage documentation, track costs, and support project reporting.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Willingness to work on-site in Subang Jaya and learn within a fast-paced infrastructure environment.
• Knowledge of local construction standards and practices is an advantage; prior internship or project experience in infrastructure or highways is beneficial.
