Job summary

UEM Edgenta Berhad in Malaysia invites driven students to join as a Quantity Surveyor Internship. You will assist in cost estimates, Bills of Quantities, tender documentation, and quantity take-offs for highway maintenance and infrastructure projects.

You'll support contract administration, commercial reporting, and cost control while learning measurement, progress valuation, and payment claims in line with contract requirements. A minimum 10-week commitment is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or postgraduate in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• CGPA of 3.00 or higher.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

It offers unique opportunity to gain valuable industry exposure by supporting the commercial and contract administration functions behind the maintenance and operation of Malaysia's highway network.

Key Areas of Exposure During Your Internship with Us Include:

• Pre-Contract & Tendering - Assist in preparing cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), tender documentation, and quantity take-offs for highway maintenance and infrastructure projects.
• Contract Administration - Support the administration of contracts, project documentation, variation orders, and contractual correspondence throughout the project lifecycle.
• Commercial & Cost Management - Gain hands‑on experience in cost monitoring, budget tracking, payment documentation, and commercial reporting to ensure effective project cost control.
• Measurement & Claims - Learn the principles of work measurement, progress valuation, and the preparation and verification of payment claims in accordance with contract requirements.

Criteria for The Ideal Intern:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Postgraduate qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum CGPA of 3.00.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
