Job summary

SUNSTAR SDN. BHD. is seeking a hands-on Project Technician to support installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of AV, UC, Network Infrastructure, and BSS/ELV systems.

The role collaborates with Project Engineers, Project Managers, customers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure systems meet project requirements. The position requires a Diploma/Certificate or technical qualification in a related field and 1–5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Certificate, or Technical qualification in Electrical, Electronics, IT, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–5 years of experience in AV, UC, networking, ELV, BSS, or system integration projects.
• Fresh graduates with relevant technical knowledge and hands-on experience may also be considered.
• Ability to read basic technical drawings, wiring diagrams, rack layouts, and network diagrams.
• Hands-on experience with tools, test equipment, cabling, and electronic/IT equipment.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work on project sites and travel when required.
• Able to work outside normal hours when required for testing, commissioning, or cutover activities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, termination, labeling, configuration, testing, and commissioning of AV, UC, network, and BSS systems.
• Follow approved drawings, technical documentation, method statements, and installation procedures.
• Perform site installation of equipment, racks, displays, projectors, speakers, microphones, cameras, control panels, and related devices.
• Install and terminate copper and fiber network cabling as required.
• Configure basic network equipment such as switches, access points, and endpoint devices.
• Assist with VLAN, IP addressing, PoE, DHCP, and basic network connectivity testing.
• Install and configure video conferencing and UC equipment including Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, SIP/VoIP, and collaboration systems.
• Perform system integration between AV/UC equipment and network infrastructure.
• Support installation and integration of BSS/ELV systems such as BMS, CCTV, access control, digital signage, room booking, and IoT systems.
• Perform equipment testing and troubleshoot hardware, cabling, connectivity, audio, video, and network issues.

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Project Technician to support the installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Audio Visual (AV), Unified Communications (UC), Network Infrastructure, and BSS/ELV systems. The Project Technician will work closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, customers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure systems are installed and operational according to project requirements.

Key responsibilities

Carry out installation, termination, labeling, configuration, testing, and commissioning of AV, UC, network, and BSS systems.

About you
