Job summary

SUNSTAR SDN. BHD. is seeking a Project Engineer to manage AV/UC, network, and BSS project implementations from design through commissioning. You will coordinate with project teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure delivery aligns with technical specs, quality standards, schedule, and budget.

You will perform site surveys, review drawings, prepare method statements, and support testing and handover activities. Strong communication and travel willingness are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, IT, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in project engineering, system integration, AV/UC, networking, or ELV projects.
• Ability to read technical drawings, network diagrams and system schematics.
• Willingness to travel to customer/project sites when required.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple project activities.

Responsibilities

• Review project requirements, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Prepare technical submissions, method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings.
• Coordinate installation and implementation of AV, UC, network, and BSS systems.
• Configure, integrate, test, and commission system equipment.
• Perform site surveys and identify technical requirements and potential implementation issues.
• Coordinate with IT, MEP, ELV, cybersecurity, and other project teams.
• Configure and troubleshoot network switches, VLANs, IP addressing, PoE, Wi-Fi, and related infrastructure.
• Support AV systems including displays, projectors, LED walls, DSP, microphones, speakers, control systems, video conferencing, and room automation.
• Support UC platforms including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, SIP, VoIP, conferencing, and collaboration systems.
• Conduct FAT, SAT, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system demonstrations.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to manage the technical implementation, integration, testing, commissioning, and handover of projects involving Audio Visual (AV), Unified Communications (UC), Network Infrastructure, and Building/Business Support Systems (BSS). The candidate will work closely with project managers, consultants, vendors, contractors, and customers to ensure projects are delivered according to technical specifications, quality standards, schedule, and budget.

Key responsibilities

Review project requirements, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.

Prepare technical submissions, method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings.

Coordinate installation and implementation of AV, UC, network, and BSS systems.

Configure, integrate, test, and commission system equipment.

About you

Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, IT, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

3-7 years of experience in project engineering, system integration, AV/UC, networking, or ELV projects.

Experience in project implementation, testing, commissioning, and handover.

Ability to read technical drawings, network diagrams and system schematics.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple project activities.

Willingness to travel to customer/project sites when required.

Knowledge of AV system design and implementation, audio DSP and signal processing, video distribution and switching.

Knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, basic routing, VLAN, QoS, PoE, managed network switches, and wireless networking fundamentals.
