Job summary

The Prestige Hotel is seeking an experienced AV Technician to install, configure and maintain audiovisual systems across the property, including projectors, screens, sound and video conferencing gear. You will support events, perform preventative maintenance and keep thorough documentation.

You’ll work with event teams, vendors and hotel staff to ensure flawless presentations, while staying current with new AV technologies and industry best practices. A positive, proactive attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as an AV Technician or similar role in hospitality, events or entertainment.
• Strong knowledge of audiovisual systems including projectors, screens, sound and lighting.
• Proficiency in installing, configuring and troubleshooting AV equipment and networking basics.
• Excellent problem-solving and clear communication with non-technical staff and guests.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required by events.

Job description

Install, configure and maintain audiovisual equipment including projectors, screens, sound systems, lighting rigs and video conferencing technology throughout the hotel

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with AV systems promptly to minimise downtime and service disruptions

Provide on-site technical support during events, conferences, weddings and other functions to ensure flawless presentations and entertainment

Conduct regular equipment inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure all systems remain in optimal working condition

Design and implement AV solutions tailored to the specific requirements of events and functions

Train hotel staff and clients on the operation of AV equipment and systems as needed

Maintain comprehensive documentation of all AV systems, equipment specifications and technical configurations

Manage inventory of AV equipment, cables, accessories and spare parts

Collaborate with event coordinators, hotel management and external vendors to coordinate AV requirements for various functions

Stay current with emerging AV technologies and industry best practices to continually improve our technical capabilities

What we're looking for

Experience as an AV Technician or similar role, ideally within the hospitality, events or entertainment industry

Strong technical knowledge of audiovisual systems, including projectors, screens, sound systems, lighting equipment and video conferencing technology

Proficiency in installing, configuring and troubleshooting AV equipment and networking systems

Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff and guests

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required by event schedules

Physical capability to safely handle and install equipment

Relevant certifications or qualifications in audiovisual technology or electronics are highly desirable

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of technical excellence
