Job summary

THE PLACE BY DECO in Alor Setar, Kedah, is seeking an experienced Project Manager (Infrastructure) to lead infrastructure and civil construction projects. This full-time, on-site role requires strong planning, budgeting, and team leadership to deliver projects safely, on time and to specifications.

You will review drawings, manage subcontractors, and coordinate with clients and authorities. A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and at least 3 years in project management are required; AutoCAD

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in project management or related field.
• Hands-on experience in infrastructure projects, civil works, roadworks, drainage, earthworks, or utilities preferred.
• Experience managing project teams, subcontractors, site operations, and schedules.
• Strong ability to read construction drawings and manage budgets.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Infrastructure) to lead and manage infrastructure and civil construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing project planning, site operations, budgets, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure all projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and agreed timelines.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and oversee infrastructure projects to ensure completion within the approved budget, schedule, and project specifications.
• Coordinate project activities, resources, manpower, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor site progress and ensure all construction works comply with project requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Review project drawings, technical specifications, work schedules, and cost estimates to ensure practicality and cost efficiency.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, variations, and resource allocation to minimise unnecessary expenses.
• Supervise and guide Site Agents, Site Supervisors, and other project personnel to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Identify project risks, resolve site-related issues, and implement corrective actions to prevent delays.
• Review site progress reports and provide regular project updates to management.
• Ensure proper preparation and maintenance of project documentation, reports, and records.
• Ensure all subcontractors and project teams comply with project schedules, specifications, and safety requirements.
• Attend site meetings and coordinate with relevant parties to address project progress, technical matters, and operational issues.

Job Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in project management or a related field.
• Candidates with hands-on experience in infrastructure projects, civil works, roadworks, drainage, earthworks, or utilities will be highly preferred.
• Experience in managing project teams, subcontractors, site operations, and project schedules.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, technical specifications, project costing, and budget management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Project will be an advantage.
• Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willing to travel and work at project sites as required.
