About the role

We are seeking a talented Project Engineer to join our team in Selangor. This role is fundamental to the successful delivery of engineering projects and plays a key strategic importance in ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the technical and operational aspects of engineering projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure quality outcomes and stakeholder.

What you'll be doing

• Planning, scheduling and coordinating all technical aspects of engineering projects from initiation through to completion
• Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including technical specifications, drawings, work plans and progress reports
• Monitoring project progress against timelines and budgets, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions as needed
• Collaborating with design engineers, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
• Conducting site inspections and quality assurance checks to ensure work is completed to required standards
• Managing project resources, including materials, equipment and personnel allocation
• Communicating project status updates and technical information to senior management and clients
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards and company policies throughout the project lifecycle
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost optimisation

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil & Structure or Engineering or a related discipline
• 3-5 years of experience in project engineering or a similar engineering role, preferably in Malaysia or the Southeast Asian region
• Able to deputize and support the Project Manager in project execution
• Experience in project budgeting, cost control and progress monitoring
• Proficiency in technical documentation and computer-aided design (CAD) software
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, drawings and site coordination
• Excellent organisational, strong client and consultant coordination skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detailKnowledge of relevant engineering standards, codes and regulations applicable to project work
• Ability to work independently whilst also being collaborative and supportive of team objectives
• Good understanding of quality, safety and risk management
• Rail industry experience is a key advantage
