Job summary

TMK Chemical Bhd. is seeking a Project Lead to organize and drive civil and structural projects at our Banting site. You will lead schedule reviews, manage procurement, and support commissioning and start-up of a new plant, while ensuring HSE compliance and timely delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Civil & Structural engineering, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience. Strong communication and drawing-reading skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree inEngineering with Civil & Structural knowledge is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Civil & Structural.
• Ability to negotiate and influence for positive outcomes.
• Able to read and understand Civil & Structural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead project/programs and conduct schedule reviews to ensure on-time delivery within cost and quality targets.
• Assist in project procurement and tendering processes.
• Lead/support commissioning and start-up of new plant; ensure readiness.
• Collaborate with functional leaders to integrate manufacturing activities with operations.
• Oversee day-to-day site operations, including contractor activities and progress.
• Supervise civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works to meet specs.
• Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders for smooth execution.
• Monitor timelines and milestones; address discrepancies or defects.
• Maintain records: progress reports, logs, inspections.
• Ensure compliance with legal regulations and contractual obligations.

Job description

To be responsible in organizing and lead Project/Program and conduct project schedule reviews to ensure projects are delivered on time as per cost targets and within quality specifications.

To assist in project procurement and tendering process.

To ensure project readiness and lead/support commissioning and start-up of new plant.

To ensure projects to be comply with company policies, standards, health, safety & environment (HSE) requirement.

To collaborate with other functional leaders to ensure manufacture-engineering activities are well integrated with manufacturing operations.

To oversee the day-to-day operations, including contractor activities and site progress.

To supervise and monitor civil and structural, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works on-site to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and standards.

To coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of work.

To monitor the project timeline to ensure that construction milestones and deadlines are met.

To identify and address any discrepancies or defects in construction works.

To perform duty as Clerk of Work to verify the work progress.

To maintain accurate records, including progress reports, daily logs, and inspection reports.

To conduct regular inspections for all Civil & Structural related works.

To ensure all construction activities adhere to legal regulations and contractual obligations.

To perform any other tasks as and when required and instructed by the superior or by the Management.

Requirements:

Preferably with Bachelor Degree in Engineering with Civil & Structural knowledge.

Minimum 5 years of experience in Civil & Structure.

Effective interpersonal skills with ability to negotiate and influence for positive outcomes.

Exposure in mechanical erection and experience in pile rigidity test would be an added advantage.

Pro-active and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Able to read and understand Civil & Structural drawings.

Applicants must be willing to work in Bandar Mahkota, Banting.

Contract Duration: This is a one (1) year fixed-term position.
