Job summary

Morimatsu Pharmadule (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to lead design and technical reviews for industrial, data-center and pharmaceutical facilities in Malaysia. The role involves coordinating drawings, liaising with China-based teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance for local projects.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Structural Engineering, with preference for BEM PE, and be ready for short overseas travel to Singapore as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Civil and Structure Engineering.
• BEM PE (Ir. Professional Engineer) qualifications are preferred.
• Know-how of reviewing civil and structure drawings against local codes.
• Experience with data-center, pharmaceutical clean-room or industrial plant projects is highly preferred.
• Familiar with Malaysian local building codes and regulatory requirements.
• Capable of reviewing Chinese & English drawings and identifying design risks.
• Willingness for short-term overseas travel (Singapore) and to liaise with China teams.

Job description

Job Purpose

Work for Morimatsu Pharmadule (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, focus on civil and structure design and technical solution. Responsible for civil and structure scheme review, drawing compliance check against local codes for industrial, data‑center and pharmaceutical plant projects in Malaysia. Collaborate with China‑based design & project teams, liaise with local stakeholders, and support design‑related tasks for overseas projects including Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

1, Civil and structure Design & Technical Review for Malaysia Projects

• Take charge of civil and structure discipline for local projects including industrial plant, data‑center and pharmaceutical clean‑room facilities. Conduct compliance review for civil and structure schemes and construction drawings against Malaysian building regulations and provide assessment comments.
• Liaise with China‑based design team, feed‑back local statutory & submission requirements to adapt drawings for Malaysia market.
• Co‑ordinate technical issues for drawing submission with local design institutes and third‑party consultants.
• Participate in pre‑sales technical feasibility assessment and provide civil and structure-oriented recommendations.

2, Project Co‑ordination & Technical Interface

• Act as local civil and structure technical point‑of‑contact for clients, local partners, supervisors and approving authorities.
• Work closely with China‑based engineering & design teams to resolve civil and structure‑related technical issues during project execution.
• Support tender & quotation phase: clarify civil and structure scope and assist to confirm technical boundary conditions.

3, Overseas Project Collaboration

• Join design review and technical discussion for Singapore and other overseas projects on civil and structure discipline.
• Build internal knowledge base covering Malaysia & Singapore civil and structure design codes, submission procedures and local design resources.

4, Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Collate local civil and structure codes, submission procedures and design‑related resources and share with China design team.
• Maintain filing for design assessment reports, drawing review records and technical meeting minutes.

Requirements

1, Bachelor’s degree or above in Civil and Structure Engineering. Candidates holding BEM PE (Ir. Professional Engineer) qualifications are preferred.

2, Minimum 5 years relevant working experience. Hands‑on experience in civil and structure design, construction drawing coordination for data‑center or pharmaceutical clean‑room plant projects is highly preferred, with good knowledge of industrial & commercial building standards.

3, Eligible for EPF and SOCSO statutory contribution.

4, Familiar with Malaysian local building codes and regulatory requirements for industrial plant, clean‑facility and data‑center projects. Capable to review Chinese & English drawings, carry‑out compliance assessment and identify design risks.

5, to communicate independently with local design institutes, authorities, partners and clients.

6, Language: Proficient in Chinese and English.

7, Advantage: Exposure to modular pharmaceutical plant / clean‑room / data‑center civil and structure design; prior experience supporting Singapore construction projects; willing to take short‑term overseas business travel.
