KPJ Healthcare Berhad is seeking a Project Coordinator to oversee a major hospital building project in Johor. You will coordinate planning, construction, and commissioning, while working with Hospital Engineering and HQ to ensure adherence to timelines and standards.
You will prepare progress reports for the CEO, monitor budgets, and manage consultants and contractors to resolve issues promptly. A 3–5 year background in hospital or large-scale construction is required.
Coordinate and monitor the overall progress of the hospital new building project from planning, construction, to commissioning stages.
Track project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and identify potential delays or risks.
Ensure works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, scope, and schedule.
Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for CEO and hospital management.
Highlight project status, key issues, risks, cost implications, and mitigation plans.
Escalate critical issues promptly to CEO for decision-making.
Work closely with Hospital Engineering Services to ensure technical requirements, M&E systems, and hospital operational needs are incorporated.
Coordinate site inspections, technical discussions, and defect resolution with engineering team.
Ensure hospital engineering standards and safety requirements are met.
Act as the main liaison between the hospital and KPJ Headquarter on all project-related matters.
Ensure compliance with KPJ Group policies, technical guidelines, approval processes, and reporting requirements.
Coordinate submission of documents, drawings, approvals, and updates to HQ.
Coordinate meetings with consultants (Architect, C&S, M&E, QS) and contractors.
Monitor consultants’ deliverables and contractors’ performance.
Ensure issues raised are tracked, followed up, and resolved in a timely manner.
Assist in monitoring project budget, variation orders (VO), claims, and payment certifications in collaboration with QS and Finance.
Highlight cost overruns or potential financial risks to CEO and management.
Ensure project complies with hospital standards, MOH requirements, local authority regulations, fire safety, and healthcare facility guidelines.
Monitor quality of workmanship and adherence to safety standards on site.
Support audits, inspections, and authority approvals where required.
Maintain proper documentation including meeting minutes, drawings, approvals, reports, correspondence, and contracts.
Ensure all project records are properly filed and accessible for reference and audit purposes.
Support testing & commissioning (T&C) activities for hospital systems (M&E, medical gas, ICT, etc.).
Coordinate defect rectification and ensure readiness for handover and hospital operations.
Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following (or equivalent):
Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical)
Construction Management
Quantity Surveying
Architecture
Project Management
Professional certification (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.) is an added advantage.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in handling building or construction projects.
Experience in hospital, healthcare, or large-scale building projects is highly preferred.
Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, and HQ-level stakeholders.
