Job summary

Saraspice Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a Production Technician to operate, monitor, and maintain production machinery, ensuring safe and efficient operation. You will perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, servicing, and basic troubleshooting while minimizing downtime.

The role also covers installation, testing, calibration, relocation, and commissioning of equipment, monitoring performance, and keeping detailed records.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM/Certificate/SKM in Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or a related technical field.
• Must be able to communicate, read and write in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Technical qualifications or training in machinery maintenance, facilities maintenance or occupational safety and health (added advantage).
• Experience in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and repair of machinery or equipment (added advantage).

Job description

This role involves operating, monitoring and maintaining production machinery and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. You will conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, servicing and basic troubleshooting, and respond to machinery breakdowns to minimise downtime. You will also assist with installation, setup, testing, calibration, relocation and commissioning of machinery and equipment, monitor performance, and maintain detailed records of all technical activities. Additionally, you will act as the Company's Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Representative/Safety Coordinator, overseeing workplace safety and health matters across office, warehouse, production areas, buildings and facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain production machinery and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, servicing and basic troubleshooting of machinery and equipment
• Attend to machinery breakdowns and technical issues to minimise downtime and disruption to operations
• Assist with the installation, setup, testing, calibration, relocation and commissioning of machinery and equipment
• Monitor machinery performance and identify maintenance, repair, replacement or improvement needs
• Maintain proper records of machinery inspections, maintenance, repairs, breakdowns and other technical activities
• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, technicians and service providers on machinery maintenance, repair and servicing
• Ensure proper care, use and safeguarding of machinery, equipment, tools, spare parts and other technical assets
• Act as the Company's Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Representative/Safety Coordinator and coordinate workplace safety and health matters
• Assist in implementing safety procedures, risk control measures, workplace inspections, hazard identification, safety awareness activities and OSH training.
• Monitor the safety and maintenance conditions of the office, warehouse, production areas, buildings and facilities, and coordinate necessary repair and maintenance works
• Report workplace hazards, unsafe practices, accidents and incidents to Management and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate superior or Management from time to time

About you

• Minimum SPM/Certificate/SKM in Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or a related technical field
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant working experience in machinery operation, maintenance, production equipment, facilities maintenance or a related technical field
• Must be able to communicate, read and write in English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Technical qualifications or training in machinery maintenance, facilities maintenance or occupational safety and health (added advantage)
• Experience in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and repair of machinery or equipment (added advantage)
