We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for our Shortening Plant to join KL-Kepong Edible Oils Sdn Bhd in Pasir Gudang, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our shortening production facilities. As Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, managing team performance, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. This role is integral to our manufacturing operations and directly impacts our ability to deliver high-quality products to our customers.
Supervise and control the overall operations of the Shortening Plant to ensure production activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the approved Production Plan and established production schedules.
Ensure optimum utilization of production capacity to achieve daily production targets while controlling and minimizing plant downtime, operational disruptions, and production losses.
Ensure effective product traceability and production record management, including batch numbering and production documentation, while minimizing product rejection, rework, and customer complaints through effective process control and quality assurance practices.
Monitor and ensure the smooth operation of filling and packaging processes, and verify that all packaging materials, including carton boxes, plastic bags, labels, sealing tapes, and pallets, comply with approved specifications and quality requirements.
Supervise, assign, and coordinate workforce activities by providing clear work instructions and ensuring all assigned tasks are carried out effectively, safely, and in accordance with established procedures.
Coach, train, and develop plant personnel to enhance their operational skills, technical competency, and process knowledge, while ensuring strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company requirements.
Ensure all Shortening Plant machinery and equipment are maintained in good operating condition, and promptly report any equipment failures, abnormalities, or maintenance requirements to the Maintenance Department for corrective action.
Coordinate raw material and packaging material requirements with the Warehouse and Production Planning teams to ensure uninterrupted production operations and adequate inventory availability and keep good track on stocks for both raw material and finish good on a daily basis.
Ensure all operational documentation, including log sheets, batch records, and production reports, is completed accurately and maintained properly. Prepare and submit daily production reports, downtime reports, production loss reports, and operational issue summaries to management in a timely manner.
Minimum SPM or Diploma in any related field
Minimum 5 year working experience in Shortening Plant Processing or equivalent packaging process
Strong knowledge of Shortening processes, machinery operation and maintenance procedures
Proven experience in managing and motivating a diverse team of production operators
Sound understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace
Familiarity with quality control procedures and ability to ensure consistent product quality
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across all levels of the organization
Proficiency in basic computer skills and experience with production management systems
Certification in food safety, ISO standards or occupational health and safety is preferred
