Job summary

KL-Kepong Edible Oils Sdn Bhd in Pasir Gudang, Johor is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor for our Shortening Plant. You will oversee daily production activities, manage a diverse team, maintain quality standards, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

This full-time role requires strong knowledge of shortening processes, machine operation and maintenance, and the ability to optimize production plans while minimizing downtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM or Diploma in any related field.
• Minimum 5 year working experience in Shortening Plant Processing or equivalent packaging process.
• Strong knowledge of Shortening processes, machinery operation and maintenance procedures.
• Proven experience in managing and motivating a diverse team of production operators.
• Sound understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
• Familiarity with quality control procedures and ability to ensure consistent product quality.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and experience with production management systems.
• Certification in food safety, ISO standards or occupational health and safety is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and control operations of the Shortening Plant to meet safety, efficiency, and schedule targets.
• Ensure optimal utilization of capacity, minimize downtime and production losses.
• Maintain product traceability, batch numbering, and production documentation.
• Monitor filling and packaging lines; verify packaging materials meet specifications.
• Supervise and coordinate workforce with clear instructions; ensure safety and SOP compliance.
• Coach and develop plant personnel to improve skills and process knowledge.
• Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained; report faults to maintenance.
• Coordinate raw material and packaging material with Warehouse and Production Planning.
• Prepare and submit daily production, downtime, loss, and issue reports.
