Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Production Control Coordinator to coordinate production planning, scheduling, materials management, and job progress to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of jobs. The candidate will collaborate with Production, Engineering, QC, Purchasing, Stores, and external suppliers to monitor flow and resolve issues.

A successful candidate will read and interpret technical drawings, create daily and weekly production plans, monitor progress from drawing

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in manufacturing or related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant production control experience.
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of dimensions, tolerances, materials, quantities and drawing specs.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple departments and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with AutoCount, Maps System and Excel is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain daily and weekly production plans and schedules.
  • Read and interpret technical/engineering drawings to understand requirements.
  • Review and release the latest production drawings to the relevant departments.
  • Monitor production progress from drawing release to completion.
  • Adjust production schedules based on capacity, manpower and material availability.
  • Coordinate material requirements with Purchasing and Stores to prevent shortages.
  • Coordinate outsourcing and finishing processes and track delivery status.
  • Identify delays and bottlenecks and resolve with cross‑functional teams.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports and job status.
  • Maintain Maps System for production flow, scheduling and costing.
  • Handle PR/PO for materials and related invoices/documentation.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production Control Coordinator to coordinate production planning, scheduling, materials, job progress, and production activities to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of jobs.

The candidate will work closely with Production, Engineering, QC, Purchasing, Stores, and external suppliers to monitor production flow, resolve issues, and ensure jobs are completed according to schedule.

Candidates must have manufacturing/engineering experience and be able to read and interpret technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain daily and weekly production plans and schedules based on delivery requirements, job priorities, machine capacity, manpower, and material availability.
  • Read and interpret technical/engineering drawings to understand dimensions, tolerances, materials, quantities, specifications, and production requirements.
  • Review and release the correct/latest production drawings to the relevant departments.
  • Monitor production progress from drawing release, material preparation, machining, finishing, QC, and completion.
  • Monitor machine loading, production capacity, manpower, and material availability, and adjust production schedules when necessary.
  • Calculate and monitor material requirements based on production jobs and drawings, and coordinate with Purchasing and Stores to prevent material shortages.
  • Coordinate outsourcing and finishing processes, including engraving, surface treatment, heat treatment, and other subcontracted work, and follow up on delivery status.
  • Monitor outstanding jobs, identify potential delays, bottlenecks, material shortages, and production constraints, and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve them.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports and job status, including production output, schedule adherence, delays, and outstanding jobs.
  • Monitor and update the Maps System for production flow, scheduling, costing, and job status.
  • Prepare and follow up on PR/PO for materials, finishing, and outsourcing, and coordinate related invoices/documentation where required.
  • Maintain accurate production records, drawings, schedules, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with Production, Engineering, QC, Purchasing, Stores, and other departments to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the superior from time to time.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in production control, production planning, production coordination, or a manufacturing/engineering environment.
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings.
  • Good understanding of dimensions, tolerances, materials, quantities, and drawing specifications.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly machining, fabrication, finishing, or engineering-related processes.
  • Experience in production planning, scheduling, material control, and job tracking.
  • Experience coordinating with Production, Engineering, QC, Purchasing, Stores, and suppliers/subcontractors.
  • Experience in monitoring production schedules and resolving production delays.
  • Familiarity with AutoCount, Maps System, and Microsoft Excel is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and follow-up skills.
  • Proactive, responsible, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple jobs and changing priorities.
