Job summary

GSP Automotive Technology Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead planning and daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment.

You will oversee manpower, shift planning, cost control, maintenance coordination, safety compliance and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring targets and timely delivery. Mandarin-speaking candidates are strongly preferred and a 6-day work week is appreciated.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Production Management or related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant production/manufacturing experience; at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in managing production teams and daily manufacturing operations; strong knowledge of planning, productivity, efficiency, and manpower management.
• Automotive manufacturing experience is an advantage.
• Mandarin-speaking; willingness to work a 6-day work week is appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage production schedules to meet targets and delivery requirements.
• Oversee daily manufacturing operations for smooth and timely production.
• Manage production manpower, work allocation and shift arrangements.
• Monitor and control production costs to reduce waste and overtime.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Maintenance to keep machines available.
• Ensure safety procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor and report production KPIs on output, productivity and downtime.

• Production Planning & Scheduling – Plan and manage production schedules to ensure production targets and customer delivery requirements are achieved.
• Production Operations – Oversee daily production activities to ensure smooth, efficient and timely manufacturing operations.
• Manpower Management – Manage production manpower, work allocation and shift arrangements to ensure effective utilization of resources.
• Production Cost Control – Monitor production costs and identify opportunities to reduce wastage, overtime, material usage and other operational costs.
• Machine & Equipment – Coordinate with Engineering and Maintenance to ensure machines and equipment are properly maintained and available for production.
• Safety & Compliance – Ensure production activities comply with company safety procedures, workplace requirements and applicable regulations.
• Continuous Improvement – Identify and implement improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce waste and improve production processes.
• Problem Solving – Identify production issues, conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Production Reporting – Monitor production performance and prepare regular reports on output, productivity, efficiency, downtime and other production KPIs.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Production Management or a related field, with 5–8 years of relevant production/manufacturing experience and at least 3 years of management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Proven experience in managing production teams and daily manufacturing operations, with strong knowledge of production planning, productivity, efficiency and manpower management.
• Manufacturing experience is required, while experience in the automotive manufacturing industry will be an advantage.
• Candidates with relevant technical qualifications, strong problem-solving and production management skills will be considered.
• Mandarin-speaking candidates are strongly preferred and willing to accept a 6-day work week are greatly appreciated.
