HUP SOON PLASTIC INDUSTRIAL (M) SDN BHD in Ipoh, Perak, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee and optimise manufacturing operations. The role focuses on efficient production processes, quality control, and continuous improvement to drive profitability.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of production management experience in plastics, strong leadership, and a track record of meeting targets while ensuring safety compliance and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of production management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastic or polymers.
• Proven track record of successfully managing production teams and achieving production targets.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control and production planning.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Proficiency in production management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Relevant qualifications such as a Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or related field.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities with proven ability to motivate teams.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and ISO standards is advantageous.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
• Fluency in English and Malay, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise daily production activities to meet production targets and delivery schedules.
• Monitor production efficiency and implement strategies to improve productivity and reduce waste.
• Ensure all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements through rigorous quality control measures.
• Manage and supervise production staff, including training, scheduling and performance management.
• Maintain accurate production records, documentation and reporting for management review.
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and operational challenges promptly.
• Liaise with other departments including sales, procurement and logistics to ensure smooth operations.
• Implement and maintain health and safety protocols in the production facility.
• Manage equipment maintenance schedules and oversee preventive maintenance programmes.
• Analyse production costs and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
• Lead continuous improvement projects and drive operational excellence.

About the Role
