About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Officer to join Selinsing Gold Mine Manager Sdn Bhd on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position within our Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory function, based in Sungai Koyan, Pahang. As Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services essential to our mining operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring cost efficiency, quality standards, and timely delivery of supplies whilst maintaining compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards
• Preparing purchase orders, requests for quotation (RFQs), and tender documentation
• Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal cost and delivery conditions
• Managing supplier relationships and performance monitoring to ensure compliance with service level agreements
• Coordinating with internal departments to understand procurement requirements and timelines
• Tracking inventory levels and maintaining accurate procurement records and databases
• Conducting market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers
• Processing invoices and resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, receipts, and supplier invoices
• Ensuring compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Preparing procurement reports and providing recommendations to management

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Procurement, or related field
• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles, preferably in manufacturing, mining, or logistics sectors
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships
• Proficiency in procurement software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time management abilities
• Knowledge of procurement best practices, cost analysis, and inventory management principles
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Understanding of quality standards and safety compliance requirements in industrial settings
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Preferred: Experience in the mining industry or with hazardous materials procurement
