Job summary

Malamin Sdn Bhd is seeking a Procurement Executive to join our mining production operations in Sintok, Kedah. You will manage end-to-end procurement, source materials and equipment, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure timely delivery at competitive prices to keep our site running smoothly.

Requirements include a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field, and 3–5 years of relevant experience. Experience in mining or heavy industry is an advantage.

Job description

We are looking for a Procurement Executive to join our mining production operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, sourcing materials and equipment, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring that the mining site receives the required materials and services on time and at competitive prices.

Key responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end procurement process from purchase requisition, quotation, evaluation, negotiation, Purchase Order (PO) and delivery.

Source and evaluate suppliers for mining materials, machinery spare parts, tools, equipment, PPE, fuel, maintenance items and other operational requirements.

Obtain and compare quotations to ensure competitive pricing and cost-effective purchasing.

Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules and other commercial conditions with suppliers.

Monitor and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery to the mining site.

Maintain good relationships with suppliers, contractors and service providers.

Coordinate closely with Operations, Maintenance, Warehouse, Finance and Management departments.

Monitor stock and procurement requirements to prevent shortages that may affect mining production.

Evaluate supplier performance based on price, quality, reliability and delivery.

Maintain accurate procurement records, quotations, purchase orders and supplier documentation.

About you

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics or a related field.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain.

Experience in mining, manufacturing, construction, heavy machinery or other industrial environments is an advantage.

Good negotiation, communication and supplier management skills.

Strong knowledge of purchasing and procurement processes.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Able to work independently and manage multiple procurement requirements simultaneously.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Willing to work at a mining site in Sintok, Kedah.

Possess own transportation and willing to travel when required.

Mandarin/Cantonese speaking ability is an added advantage, especially for dealing with suppliers.
