Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee mining site procurement, including sourcing heavy machinery parts and consumables. You will negotiate with suppliers, manage POs, and coordinate with maintenance, engineering, warehousing and finance to ensure timely delivery and optimal costs.

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to manage and oversee all procurement activities for our mining operations. The role will be responsible for sourcing machinery spare parts, mining equipment, tools, consumables, construction materials, fuel-related supplies, and other site requirements while ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the complete procurement process for mining site operations.
Source and purchase heavy machinery spare parts, plant equipment, mechanical components, tools, PPE, consumables, and site materials.
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best price, quality, and delivery terms.
Obtain and compare quotations and prepare procurement recommendations for management approval.
Ensure critical spare parts and materials are available to prevent machinery and plant downtime.
Coordinate closely with the Site Manager, Maintenance, Engineering, Warehouse, Production, and Finance departments.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate procurement based on operational requirements and maintenance schedules.
Manage purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery to the mining site.
Develop and maintain a reliable supplier and vendor network.
Monitor supplier performance, product quality, delivery schedules, and pricing.
Negotiate contracts, payment terms, warranties, and other commercial conditions.
Maintain accurate procurement records, quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and supplier documentation.
Handle urgent procurement requirements and ensure minimum disruption to mining operations.
Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising safety, quality, or operational requirements.
Monitor market prices for machinery parts, equipment, materials, and other mining-related supplies.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approval procedures, and applicable regulations.
Prepare regular procurement reports, cost comparisons, and purchasing forecasts for management.
Resolve supplier issues, delayed deliveries, incorrect items, and quality‑related complaints.
Support management in developing long‑term procurement strategies for mining operations.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of procurement experience, preferably in mining, quarrying, construction, manufacturing, or heavy industrial operations.
Experience purchasing heavy machinery spare parts, plant equipment, mechanical items, and mining consumables is highly preferred.
Strong supplier sourcing, negotiation, and cost‑control skills.
Good understanding of inventory and supply chain management.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Able to work under pressure and respond quickly to urgent site requirements.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Experience with procurement/ERP systems is an advantage.
Willing to work at a remote mining site and coordinate with suppliers outside the site when required.
