Job summary

GT-MAX CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD is seeking a Procurement/Purchasing professional in Selangor to research suppliers, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery of materials. You will work closely with the Site Team and QS to issue accurate POs and maintain comprehensive records.

The role emphasizes supplier performance reviews, inventory monitoring, and adherence to company policies and ethical standards. Construction industry experience is advantageous and MS Office proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 1–2 years of procurement or purchasing experience.
• Construction industry experience is a plus.
• Proficient with MS Office and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing, ensure on-time material delivery.
• Coordinate with Site Team and QS to process purchase requests and POs.
• Maintain records of purchases, contracts, and supplier data.
• Conduct annual supplier performance reviews.
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with policies, regulations and ethics.
• Submit invoices and delivery orders to Finance for processing.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Job description

Research and evaluate suppliers, negotiate competitive pricing, and ensure on-time delivery of required materials.

Coordinate closely with the Site Team and Contract Team (QS) to process purchase requests and issue accurate Purchase Orders (POs).

Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of all purchases, contracts, and supplier data.

Conduct annual supplier performance reviews to ensure consistent quality and service standards.

Monitor inventory levels, track stock movements, and manage timely reordering to prevent shortages or overstocking.

Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.

Ensure prompt submission of invoices and delivery orders to the Finance Department for processing.

Perform any other related tasks assigned by the superior or management.

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or any relevant field.
• Minimum 1 - 2 years of relevant working experience in procurement or purchasing.
• Experience in the construction industry would be an added advantage for this position.
• Computer literate with knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word & SQL Software.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
