Job summary

GT-MAX CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD is seeking an experienced M&E professional to plan, coordinate and manage M&E works across construction sites, ensuring projects meet time, budget, and quality targets.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services engineering with at least 5 years of M&E construction experience and the ability to read technical drawings. Attractive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or building services.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in M&E construction or building services.
• Familiar with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV systems.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage all M&E works at sites to ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery.
• Review M&E drawings, specs, shop drawings and contract documents for compliance.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers and authorities.
• Ensure works follow approved drawings, method statements, specs and safety rules.
• Conduct site inspections, testing, commissioning and quality checks.
• Prepare and review progress reports, schedules, technical docs and material submissions.
• Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot issues and propose solutions.
• Attend site meetings and client/project coordination discussions.
• Support handover, defect rectification and maintenance coordination.
• Mentor junior engineers and site personnel.

Job description

Plan, coordinate, and manage all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works at construction sites to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Review M&E drawings, technical specifications, shop drawings, and contract documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities on all M&E-related matters.

Ensure all M&E works are executed according to approved drawings, method statements, project specifications, and safety regulations.

Conduct site inspections, testing, commissioning, and quality checks to ensure compliance with project standards.

Prepare and review progress reports, work schedules, technical documentation, material submissions, and project records.

Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot engineering issues, and recommend effective solutions during project execution.

Attend site meetings, project coordination meetings, technical discussions, and client meetings.

Support project handover, defect rectification, maintenance coordination, and final inspections.

Guide and mentor junior engineers and site personnel to ensure quality project delivery.

Perform any other tasks assigned by the immediate superior or Head of Department (HOD) as needed.

Job Requirements

Must possess at least a Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of working experience in M&E construction or building services industry.

Familiar with M&E systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV systems.

Able to read and interpret technical drawings, shop drawings, and construction plans.

Able to work independently and under tight project deadlines.

Willing to travel or be based at construction sites when required.
