Job summary

GT-MAX CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to support tendering, cost estimation, and post-contract activities. The role involves preparing bills of quantities, interim valuations, and final accounts, while coordinating closely with clients, consultants, and site teams.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of relevant experience, strong English and Bahasa Malaysia, and proficient AutoCAD, MS Project, and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional language skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, including drawings, specifications, and contract conditions.
• Visit the proposed job site with the operations team, if required.
• Prepare cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions.
• Participate in tender interviews, discussions, and negotiations with clients when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with consultants, sub-contractors, and project teams after contract award.
• Prepare estimates, bills of quantities, interim valuations, and final accounts.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager on EOT, VO, or changes in contract conditions.
• Prepare, submit, negotiate, and monitor Variation Orders.

Job description

Review tender documents, including drawings, specifications, and contract conditions. Seek clarification from consultants or client representatives as needed.

Visit the proposed job site with the operations team, if required.

Prepare cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions.

Participate in tender interviews, discussions, and negotiations with clients when necessary.

Post-Contract:

Work collaboratively with consultants, sub-contractors, and project teams.

Prepare estimates, bills of quantities, interim valuations, and final accounts.

Coordinate closely with the Project Manager on issues that may lead to Extensions of Time (EOT), Variation Orders (VO), or changes in contract conditions.

Represent the company at monthly site meetings with clients, if needed.

Handle all related contractual correspondence, providing advice on contractual requirements.

Submit monthly progress claims to clients and manage final account settlements, including the final cost analysis of the project.

Prepare, submit, negotiate, and monitor Variation Orders until approval is obtained.

Coordinate site valuations for monthly progress assessments with clients, main contractors, or sub-contractors.

Monitor and report on project resources, costs, and budgets.

Collaborate closely with site personnel to ensure project alignment with contractual obligations.

Prepare cash flow forecasts for monthly planning.

Source, negotiate, and select sub-contractors, including managing sub-contract documentation.

Prepare award recommendations, conduct rate analysis, and finalize sub-contract agreements.

Any other task assigned by the superior from time to time.

Job Requirements:

Possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Management, or a related field.

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience.

Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional language skills are an advantage.

Strong communication and coordination skills with clients, consultants, construction teams, and sub-contractors.

Expertise in the following areas:

Construction costing, budgeting, and cost control.

Comprehensive knowledge of pre- and post-contract activities.

Familiarity with Contractual Law.

Proficient in drafting and reviewing contractual letters.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and MS Office.
