Job summary

GT-Max Construction in Malaysia is seeking a Procurement Specialist to research suppliers, negotiate pricing, and ensure on-time delivery of materials. You will coordinate with the Site Team and QS, issue POs, and maintain comprehensive purchasing records.

The role requires a Diploma/Bachelor in Business or SCM with 1–2 years of procurement experience; construction industry exposure is a plus. Strong Excel/Word/SQL skills, negotiation and communication abilities are essential.

Qualifications

Candidate must possess at least a Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or relevant field.
Minimum 1–2 years of procurement or purchasing experience.
Experience in the construction industry is an added advantage.
Computer literate with knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word & SQL.

Responsibilities

Research and evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing, and ensure on-time delivery of materials.
Coordinate with Site Team and Contract Team (QS) to process purchase requests and issue POs.
Maintain records of purchases, contracts, and supplier data.
Conduct supplier performance reviews to ensure quality and service standards.
Monitor inventory, track stock movements, and manage timely reordering.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with policies, regulations, and ethics.
Submit invoices and delivery orders to Finance for processing.
Perform related tasks as assigned by management.

Job Description

Research and evaluate suppliers, negotiate competitive pricing, and ensure on-time delivery of required materials.
Coordinate closely with the Site Team and Contract Team (QS) to process purchase requests and issue accurate Purchase Orders (POs).
Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of all purchases, contracts, and supplier data.
Conduct annual supplier performance reviews to ensure consistent quality and service standards.
Monitor inventory levels, track stock movements, and manage timely reordering to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
Ensure prompt submission of invoices and delivery orders to the Finance Department for processing.
Perform any other related tasks assigned by the superior or management.

Job Requirements

Candidate must possess at least a Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or any relevant field.
Minimum 1 - 2 years of relevant working experience in procurement or purchasing.
Experience in the construction industry would be an added advantage for this position.
Computer literate with knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word & SQL Software.
