Job summary

GRAND VENTURE TECHNOLOGY (JOHOR) SDN. BHD. in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Procurement Executive to manage purchasing and sourcing for sheet metal materials, standard components, machining parts, and subcontracting services.

You will plan procurement, source suppliers, maintain BOM accuracy, drive cost reductions, and prepare monthly reports. The role requires 3+ years in purchasing and at least 2 years in metal or machining, plus strong negotiation and English proficiency.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for an experienced PROCUREMENT EXECUTIVE to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing purchasing and sourcing activities, particularly for sheet metal materials, standard components, machining parts, and subcontracting services.

Grand Venture Technology ("GVT") is a trusted manufacturing solutions and service provider for the semiconductor, analytical life sciences, electronics, aerospace, medical and other industries, with operations in Singapore, Malaysia (Penang, Johor Bahru) and the People's Republic of China (Suzhou).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and execute procurement activities for materials, parts, components, and related items.
• Source sheet metal materials, standard components, and machining parts.
• Ensure materials are ordered on time and available to meet production requirements while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
• Maintain and verify BOM accuracy, material lead times, and pricing in the system.
• Identify and develop new suppliers to meet company requirements.
• Ensure suppliers and contractors are properly registered and assessed according to company policies.
• Conduct supplier visits when required to monitor performance and ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
• Monitor the cost, delivery schedule, and performance of major subcontractors.
• Drive cost reduction and lead-time improvement initiatives.
• Prepare monthly procurement reports and provide updates to Management.
• Maintain and update department SOPs, procedures, and job descriptions.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing / sourcing.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the sheet metal or machining industry.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Good knowledge of technical and engineering requirements.
• Strong negotiation, supplier management, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and communicate effectively with internal departments and suppliers.
