Job summary

Global Sales And Marketing Sdn Bhd is seeking a Purchasing Clerk to assist in sourcing, purchasing, and supplier coordination in Sarawak, Kuching. You will prepare POs, verify invoices, manage supplier records, and monitor stock to ensure timely replenishment.

The role requires basic understanding of purchasing procedures, strong attention to detail, and Mandarin communication skills to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients. Fresh graduates or candidates with 1–2 years in purchasing are welcome.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM / Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with 1-2 years of purchasing experience are encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of purchasing procedures, supply chain and inventory control is an advantage.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Able to work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Able to speak, read and write in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the sourcing and purchasing of materials, supplies and equipment required by the company.
• Prepare and process purchase orders (PO) accurately and on time.
• Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotations, confirm pricing, negotiate terms and follow up on delivery schedules.
• Maintain and update supplier records, price lists and product information.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment based on stock requirements.
• Work closely with warehouse and accounts departments to ensure smooth delivery and invoice processing.
• Verify and match supplier invoices with purchase orders and delivery orders.
• Assist in evaluating supplier performance and ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Handle any supply issues, delays or discrepancies and elevate when necessary.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of all purchasing-related records.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
