Job summary

Greatech in Malaysia requires a Maintenance Technician with a Diploma/Certificate in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields to support installation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation equipment.

The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control systems, with experience in sheet metal fabrication machinery considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation systems.
• Able to perform equipment installation, setup, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in maintain, troubleshoot, repair for Sheet Metal Fabrication Machine (e.g. Welding, Laser Cutting, Bending, CNC Milling) will be an advantage.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Willing to work shifts, overtime, or provide support during equipment breakdowns when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
• Perform corrective maintenance and repair work during equipment breakdowns.
• Conduct equipment inspection and identify abnormal conditions.
• Respond to production maintenance calls within defined response time.
• Perform basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control-system troubleshooting, according to competency level.
• Update maintenance checklists, work orders, repair records, and spare-part usage records.
• Escalate major or repeated equipment issues to the Maintenance Engineer.
• Support equipment installation, modification, relocation, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain housekeeping, safety, and 5S standards in maintenance work areas.
• Follow approved maintenance SOPs, lockout/tagout requirements, and safety procedures.
