Job summary

UB Group is seeking a Presales Engineer to design and propose ASRS and OHS automation solutions. You will work with customers, sales and engineering teams to understand requirements and develop solution concepts.

The role involves site surveys, capacity calculations, layout development and preparation of technical proposals for tenders and projects. Travel to customer sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse automation, factory automation or system integration.
• Experience with ASRS, OHS, conveyors, stacker cranes, shuttle systems or automated material-handling equipment.
• Able to prepare concept layouts using AutoCAD or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct customer site surveys and requirement-gathering sessions.
• Understand existing warehouse, production and material-flow processes.
• Develop ASRS and OHS concept layouts based on customer requirements.
• Calculate storage capacity, throughput, cycle time and equipment requirements.
• Prepare preliminary system layouts, material-flow diagrams and solution architecture.
• Recommend suitable automation equipment and transfer stations.
• Prepare technical proposals, scope of work, equipment lists, assumptions and exclusions.
• Support costing, tender submissions and technical clarifications.
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams, suppliers and technology partners.
• Present proposed solutions to customers and management.
• Identify technical risks, site limitations and integration requirements.
• Support project handover from sales to project execution.

Presales Engineer – ASRS & OHS Automation Solutions

Job Summary

UB is looking for a Presales Engineer to support the design and proposal of Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), Overhead Hoist Systems (OHS), conveyor systems and related material-handling automation solutions.

The role will work closely with customers, sales, engineering teams and technology partners to understand operational requirements, conduct site surveys, develop solution concepts and prepare technical proposals.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct customer site surveys and requirement-gathering sessions.
• Understand existing warehouse, production and material-flow processes.
• Develop ASRS and OHS concept layouts based on customer requirements.
• Calculate storage capacity, throughput, cycle time and equipment requirements.

Required Skills and Experience

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse automation, factory automation, material handling or system integration.
• Experience with ASRS, OHS, conveyors, stacker cranes, shuttle systems or automated material-handling equipment.
• Able to prepare concept layouts using AutoCAD or similar software.
• Good understanding of storage-capacity and throughput calculations.
• Basic knowledge of PLC controls, sensors, safety systems and industrial networking.
• Understanding of WMS, WCS, MES or ERP integration would be an advantage.
• Able to prepare technical proposals and present solutions clearly.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Willing to travel for customer meetings and site surveys.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with warehouse automation suppliers or system integrators.
• Experience in semiconductor, electronics, manufacturing, logistics or distribution-centre projects.
• Knowledge of simulation, 3D-layout or warehouse-design software.
• Experience supporting tenders, costing and commercial proposals.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
