Job summary

Rencana Nadi Sdn Bhd in Setia Alam, Shah Alam, Malaysia, is seeking a Business Development Manager to grow our training business by bringing in clients, building a trainer network, and managing programmes end-to-end. You will identify HRD Corp-registered employers, prepare proposals, negotiate, close deals, and coordinate with partners and trainers.

A network of HR and L&D contacts is advantageous; fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required; own transport and willingness to travel to

Position Business Development Manager (BDM)

Business Development Manager to grow our training business: bringing in clients, building our trainer network and managing programmes from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

Identify and qualify HRD Corp-registered employers with training needs and levy funds available

Prepare proposals, negotiate and close deals, and secure repeat business

Work with introducer partners on referred clients through to closing

Recruit trainers and consultants through LinkedIn and industry networks, and match them to client needs

Maintain the trainer database: past programmes, clients and industries trained

Manage each programme from confirmation to delivery, coordinating trainers, venue, materials and LOAs

Work with the admin team on HRDC grant applications (ETRIS) and claims, and follow up on client feedback

Report monthly to management on pipeline, closings, revenue and programme margins

About you

Degree or diploma in Business, Human Resources or a related field

At least 5 years in business development or sales, preferably in corporate training, HR consulting or B2B services

Working knowledge of HRD Corp schemes, levy utilisation and grant claims

An existing network of HR and L&D contacts in Malaysian companies is a strong advantage

Proven record of meeting sales targets, with strong negotiation and presentation skills

Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia

Own transport and willing to travel to client sites
