Master Tec Wire & Cable Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to lead master planning and production control for wire and cable manufacturing. You will align capacity with demand, optimize material availability, and guide a high‑performing planning team to ensure on‑time delivery.

The role requires strong ERP/MRP experience, plus 5–8 years in production planning or PPC, with leadership responsibilities.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced, analytical, and hands‑on Planning Manager to take charge of our master planning and production control operations. In this role, you will be instrumental in aligning manufacturing capacity with customer demand, optimizing material availability for wire and cable production, and leading a high‑performing planning team.

Key Responsibilities:

A) Material & Production Planning:

Establish, maintain, and update the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and master planning lists based on confirmed sales orders, customer forecasts, and plant capacities.

Formulate and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules across drawing, stranding, extrusion, laying‑up, and armoring/sheathing processes.

Plan and schedule raw materials and component requirements (copper/aluminum conductors, PVC/XLPE compounds, steel tapes/wires, packaging reels) to fulfill job orders seamlessly.

Monitor machine capacity loading, lead times, and line throughput to eliminate bottlenecks and achieve 100% on‑time delivery (OTD).

Coordinate closely with Sales, Production, QA/QC, and Engineering for daily operations.

B) Inventory Management:

Formulate and implement inventory control strategies to maintain optimal buffer stock, prevent production stoppages, and minimize slow‑moving inventory (SLOB).

Monitor safety stock levels, minimum order quantities (MOQ), and reorder points for raw materials, work‑in‑progress (WIP), and finished goods (FG).

Drive regular inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation exercises to ensure high ERP/MRP inventory accuracy.

Analyze scrap, yield rates, and material variance against bill of materials (BOM), driving corrective actions to curb material losses.

C) Warehouse Management & Team Leadership:

Oversee daily warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring efficient space utilization, proper material handling, staging, and prompt issuance to production floors.

Ensure strict adherence to 5S, warehouse safety standards, FIFO principles, and standard storage guidelines for heavy reels and compound materials.

Directly manage, guide, and mentor planning executives, material controllers, and warehouse personnel.

Conduct recruitment interviews, departmental onboarding, and competency training for subordinates.

Execute periodic performance appraisals (KPI reviews), establish individual performance targets, and handle disciplinary administration within the department.

Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree / Post‑Graduate Diploma / Professional Degree in Engineering (Industrial / Manufacturing), Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.

Minimum 5–8 years of working experience in production planning and control (PPC / PMC) within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a managerial or assistant managerial capacity.

Direct experience in wire and cable manufacturing or continuous process manufacturing (e.g., metals, extrusion, compounding) is strongly preferred.

Strong proficiency in ERP / MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or proprietary manufacturing software) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Proven leadership capability with experience in conducting job interviews, setting KPIs, and managing performance appraisals.

Strong problem‑solving, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills, with professional working proficiency (written and spoken) in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Chinese.
