Amphenol DC Electronics Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead material planning, procurement, and inventory control within a high-mix electronics manufacturing environment.
You will drive MRP accuracy, establish cost-reduction programs, coordinate with production, planning, and logistics, and manage global suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and optimal stock levels.
Develop material planning strategies based on customer forecasts and production schedules.
Ensure material availability to support production without shortages.
Balance inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
Review customer forecasts and convert demand into procurement plans.
Manage MRP (Material Requirements Planning).
Review purchase requirements generated by ERP/MRP systems.
Monitor inventory health and stock turns.
Control safety stock levels.
Develop shortage recovery plans.
Lead procurement activities for:
Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and contracts.
Develop strategic sourcing plans.
Identify alternative suppliers to reduce supply risk.
Evaluate supplier performance using KPIs including:
Conduct supplier business reviews.
Maintain optimal inventory levels.
Monitor inventory accuracy.
Reduce:
Improve inventory turnover.
Lead annual stock count activities.
Coordinate closely with:
Ensure new product introduction (NPI) materials are ready.
Monitor import/export shipments.
Coordinate urgent shipments when required.
Drive annual material cost reduction programs.
Monitor purchase price variance (PPV).
Identify opportunities for supply chain optimization.
Improve working capital through inventory reduction initiatives.
Identify supply chain risks.
Create business continuity plans.
Manage supply disruptions caused by geopolitical issues, natural disasters, or supplier constraints.
Improve MRP parameters.
Analyze demand and supply planning reports.
Support ERP implementation and continuous improvements.
Lead the Materials, Purchasing, and Planning teams.
Coach and develop team members.
Conduct performance evaluations.
Build succession plans.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Lead Lean Supply Chain initiatives.
Improve planning accuracy.
Optimize warehouse inventory.
Reduce supplier lead times.
Implement automation where applicable.
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
Professional certifications (preferred):
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in supply chain, materials planning, or procurement within the electronics manufacturing or cable and wire harness industry.
At least 5 years in a managerial role.
Experience supporting OEM/EMS customers.
Experience managing global suppliers.
Familiarity with high-mix, low-volume and build-to-order manufacturing environments.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Infor.
