Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia's Petaling Jaya is seeking a People Analytics Manager to lead the HR analytics function. This full-time role translates complex workforce data into actionable insights to support HR strategy, workforce planning, and talent management.

You will collaborate with HR leadership and business stakeholders to identify trends, develop dashboards, and optimise people practices, ensuring data quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, data science or analytics.
  • 3–5 years of experience in people analytics or HR analytics.
  • Experience with HRIS and advanced analytics tools.
  • Strong communication of insights to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive people analytics dashboards and reports tracking HR metrics.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of HR data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in talent management and organisational performance.
  • Support workforce planning initiatives by providing analytical insights on headcount forecasting, skills gap analysis, and succession planning.
  • Collaborate with HR business partners and department heads to define data requirements and deliver customized analytics solutions that inform strategic decisions.
  • Design and analyse employee surveys, engagement initiatives, and pulse checks to measure organisational health and recommend interventions.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies in all analytics activities.
  • Build and maintain HR information systems, databases, and reporting tools to enable efficient data collection and analysis.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in clear, compelling formats that drive action and demonstrate business impact.
  • Identify and implement best practices in people analytics and recommend new analytical approaches to address emerging business needs.
  • Support recruitment analytics, including time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, and quality-of-hire metrics to optimise talent acquisition strategies.

About the role

We are seeking a People Analytics Manager to join our Human Resources team in a full-time position based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This is a strategic role that will play a crucial part in transforming how our company leverages people data to drive business decisions and enhance our organisational effectiveness. As People Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for translating complex human resources data into actionable insights that support our HR strategy, workforce planning, and talent management initiatives. You will work closely with HR leadership and business stakeholders to identify trends, solve challenges, and optimise our people practices through rigorous analysis and reporting.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive people analytics dashboards and reports that track key HR metrics including recruitment, retention, engagement, performance, and diversity
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of HR data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in talent management and organisational performance
  • Support workforce planning initiatives by providing analytical insights on headcount forecasting, skills gap analysis, and succession planning
  • Collaborate with HR business partners and department heads to define data requirements and deliver customized analytics solutions that inform strategic decisions

What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in people analytics, HR analytics, or a similar analytical role within a Human Resources or Consulting & Generalist HR environment
  • Advanced proficiency with HR information systems (HRIS) and data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik
  • Strong expertise in SQL, data manipulation, and statistical analysis using tools such as Excel, R, or Python
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Solid understanding of HR processes, metrics, and terminology including recruitment, retention, compensation, performance management, and employee engagement
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and develop data-driven recommendations
  • Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple analytics projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Experience with predictive analytics and workforce planning methodologies is advantageous
  • Familiarity with retail or consumer-facing industry operations is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with financial modelling or forecasting would be valuable assets
