Job summary

Hunters International Malaysia is seeking an experienced HR Manager in Selangor to lead HR operations and payroll with strong Employment Act knowledge. The role requires guiding a payroll team, ensuring accurate payments, and partnering with departments to achieve HR objectives.

You will help shape HR strategy in a Retail & FMCG context, mentor younger members, and maintain compliance with regulations while driving excellence across HR processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years working experience in overall HR management with strong knowledge of Employment Act & Payroll.
• Retail & FMCG HR experience and expatriate management will be an added advantage.
• At least 2 years’ experience in managing a team in payroll.
• Eye for detail and accuracy driven with advanced Excel and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Be the gate keeper in timeliness and accuracy of employee payments and payroll cycles.
• Lead HR Services team and collaborate with departments, vendors and stakeholders.
• Manage store operations HR matters and oversee new hires, regular and resignations.
• Stay updated on employment regulations and advise Management on relevant actions.

Responsibility

• The Manager will be the gate keeper in the timeliness and accuracy of employee related payments (including annual cycles). It is a primary role to review these payments and keep a systematic cycle to this. The Manager will collaborate with relevant departments, vendors and stakeholders to achieve this objective. In day-to-day operations, the Manager will lead and supervise the HR Services members in managing and completing HR processes and systems to expected timeline and accuracy level.
• Managing multiple levels of stakeholders. Most regular will be store operations where HRS is the primary contact in HR matters with store managers in handling new hires, regular and resigned employees. As relevant to your responsibility, you will take lead in discussions and conclusions with other Department Managers, Directors and Management to achieve HR and Company goals.
• As subject matter expert, you will take lead in keeping up with employment regulations of the country and then advise Management, execute relevant course of actions. You will attend to latest trends in HR practices which may influence our position as employer of choice for high talents and retail. You are also empowered to represent the Company in attending to Government labor officers and internal regulators (meetings/audits/visits).
• As a HR strategist, you will work with HR Director, Global HR, other HR Managers, Management and other Departments in the annual and midterm plans/projects to achieve company mid-long-term goal. This includes review of hygiene factors, including necessary frameworks, specific schemes to targeted groups and systems to be in place.
