Job summary

Ferrotec Manufacturing Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia is seeking an experienced supplier management professional to oversee outsourcing and vendor evaluation, ensuring cost-efficient delivery and quality across projects.

You will coordinate internal teams with external suppliers, read engineering drawings, monitor budgets, and maintain LM W compliance. English proficiency is required; Mandarin is a plus. Our offices in Pasir Gudang, JB and Penang support regional operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in metal/machining manufacturing outsourcing or vendor management.
• Ability to read technical drawings and understand specifications.
• Knowledge of outsource policies and LM W.
• Proficient in English; Mandarin a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and select external vendors for outsourcing needs.
• Manage communication between internal teams and suppliers to deliver projects on time.
• Track budgets and cost analysis for outsourced services.
• Prepare status reports on progress, performance metrics and costs.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory outsourcing requirements.
• Develop procedures and maintain ongoing supplier relationships.

Job description

Overview in both outsourcing and sub-con planning activities.

Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suitable external vendors for outsourcing needs.

Evaluate potential external engineering vendors based on technical capabilities, cost, quality, delivery timelines and ensuring quality standards are met.

Maintaining communication between internal teams and external suppliers to deliver projects on time.

Track and manage project budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness of outsourced services.

Preparing regular status reports on project progress, performance metrics, and cost analysis for internal stakeholders.

Conduct site visit at vendor facilities to assess capabilities & processes.

Identify and address any issues that arise during the outsourcing process, including technical challenges or delays quickly and efficiently.

Ensuring adherence to relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to outsourcing.

Capable in managing multiple projects in tight time frame.

Development of procedures as required.

Undertake other role & responsibilities that are assigned by the company and immediate superior from time to time.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Preferable mechanical engineering)

Min 5 years working experience in metal / machining manufacturing industry.

Strong understanding of engineering principles, able to read and understand the technical drawing, requirements & specifications.

Knowledge of outsource policies & Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW)

Experience in supplier management and vendor evaluation

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders

Good leadership with supplier interpersonal and teamwork behavioral.

Attentive, high integrity and thoroughness of working attitude/disciplined.

Ability to work both independently and as a part of a collaborative team.

Proficiency in English - written & oral.

Added advantages if manage to comprehend in Mandarin.

Proficiency in Microsoft excel & word

Knowledge in SAP will be an advantage.
