- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Manufacturing Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of managerial or supervisory experience in manufacturing or an industrial environment; quartz or semiconductor-related experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of production, quality, planning, equipment, manpower and factory operations.
- Good knowledge of customer requirements, EHS, 6S and quality management systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple functions and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of cost control, productivity and operational efficiency.
- Proficient in ERP/MES and Microsoft Office.
The Deputy Manager is responsible for supporting the Business Unit Manager in the overall management and daily operations of the factory. The role covers production, quality, planning, customer coordination, EHS, 6S, manpower, equipment, cost and operational performance. The Deputy Manager coordinates cross-functional activities to ensure smooth factory operations, achieve business objectives, maintain customer satisfaction and continuously improve productivity, quality and efficiency.
Overall Factory Operations
- Coordinate daily factory operations and ensure effective cooperation among Production, Quality, Planning, Engineering, Warehouse, Maintenance, EHS and other functions.
- Monitor overall factory performance, identify operational risks and ensure timely corrective actions and issue closure.
- Support implementation of company strategies, policies and operational objectives.
Production & Delivery
- Monitor production output, productivity, utilization, downtime, yield and delivery performance.
- Ensure production follows approved procedures, work instructions and customer requirements.
- Work with Planning to monitor orders, WIP, aging orders and delivery risks, and drive timely work-order closure.
- Identify bottlenecks and improve capacity, productivity and process efficiency.
Quality & Customer
- Work with Quality to monitor yield, rejection, rework and customer-related quality issues.
- Ensure quality problems are investigated and corrective/preventive actions are effectively implemented.
- Support customer visits, audits, technical discussions, complaints and requests.
- Coordinate internal teams to ensure customer issues are followed up and resolved within the required timeframe.
EHS & 6S
- Ensure compliance with company EHS policies, procedures and applicable regulations.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure unsafe conditions are identified and addressed.
- Maintain 6S standards across production and supporting areas and drive regular inspections and corrective actions.
Manpower Management
- Monitor manpower requirements, allocation, attendance, discipline and effectiveness.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, competency development and performance management.
- Build a capable, accountable and motivated workforce and promote teamwork.
Equipment & Facility Management
- Monitor equipment availability, utilization, maintenance and downtime.
- Work with Engineering and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Support capacity planning and introduction of new equipment, technologies and facilities.
- Monitor factory operating costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and resource optimization.
- Drive improvements in manpower efficiency, equipment utilization, material usage and energy consumption.
- Lead cross-functional improvement activities covering productivity, quality, delivery, cost and safety.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare regular factory performance reports and monitor key KPIs.
- Provide timely escalation to the Business Unit Manager regarding major issues, risks and improvement actions.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and applicable regulations.
