Ferrotec Manufacturing Malaysia SDN. BHD. is seeking a experienced Buyer Planner to manage procurement and inventory for critical components. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time deliveries at competitive costs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management, 3+ years in a Buyer Planner role, and 2+ years in MRP/ERP systems. Multilingual communication in English/Malay/Mandarin is an advantage, with start-up experience highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years in Buyer Planner role.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in MRP/ERP system.
• Experience in launching a start-up company.
• Extensive knowledge of supplier base and network.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in launching a start-up and good communication in English/Malay/Mandarin is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, monitor and procure critical components and inventory levels.
• Interact daily with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Review requirement plans and determine means to meet them.
• Source, negotiate and maintain best purchase package in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.
• Expedite supply solutions for line-down scenarios and communicate action plans.
• Maintain data integrity in the MRP system and monitor supplier performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to Kaizen processes and improve procurement flow.
• Monitor inventory to meet forecasts and minimize excess material and waste.
• Ensure BOM integrity and accurate inventory records; load master schedule into MRP.

Job description

The Buyer Planner’s primary function is to plan, organize, monitor, and procure critical components and inventory level of assigned direct / indirect commodities. This position requires daily interaction with multiple internal and external stakeholders to drive on time deliveries at competitive cost structures while maintaining a healthy level of inventory.

This position will require strong interaction with internal external stakeholders as well as collaboration within the SMC team to be successful.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

General Duties

Observe highest standard of integrity and ethical business practice while performing daily activities in sourcing and procurement activities.

Ensure timely and accurate flow of information and documentation to stakeholders to meet performance expectation

Review assigned requirement plans and determine appropriate means to meet requirements

Undertake other role & responsibilities that are assigned by immediate superior from time to time until full closure.

Buyer

Source, select, negotiate, and maintain the best purchase package in terms of quality, cost, delivery lead time and after sales service with suppliers.

Expedite supply solutions for line down and component shortage scenario and communicate with stakeholders on action plans.

Actively maintain the data integrity of the supply network in MRP System.

Monitor and track the performance scorecard of the supplier

Actively participate in supplier quality issue which includes part return for rework and replacement.

Collaboration with multiple stakeholders to implement process improvement to drive kaizen in the workplace.

Planner

Monitor and track inventory level efficiently to meet forecast and business requirement to mitigate risk and ensure contingency plans are in place while minimizing excess material and waste.

Ensure integrity of the Bill of Materials (BOM) and inventory accuracies.

Analyze and provide input in the development of the sales forecast projections and implements material procurement through loading of a master schedule into the company MRP system.

REQUIREMENTS / SKILLSET:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent

Minimum of 3 years in Buyer Planner role

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in MRP / ERP system

Experience in launching a start-up company

Extensive knowledge of supplier base and network

Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast paced and changing environment

Experience in launching a start-up company & with good communication in English/Malay/ Mandarin will be an added advantage
