Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks an Optical Equipment Engineer to manage SPI, AOI, and AXI across the factory. You will develop operation, maintenance and repair procedures for all inspection equipment.

You will review programs, optimize inspection processes to reduce false calls, lead troubleshooting, calibrate equipment, and coordinate with Quality and customers on audits. Diploma or higher in Mechatronics/Electronics and 3+ years' experience required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or above in Mechatronics or Electronics Engineering.
• 3+ years as Optical Equipment Engineer in server PCBA manufacturing or electronics.
• Strong knowledge of SPI, SMT/DIP AOI, AXI, programming, setup, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Familiar with IPC-A-610 standards.
• Proficient in written and spoken Chinese and English, with ability to communicate technical requirements with customers.

Job description

Responsible for the technical management of all optical inspection equipment throughout the factory, including SPI, AOI, and AXI. Develop equipment operation, maintenance, and repair procedures.

Review, optimize, and standardize inspection programs. Monitor and control false call rates and escape rates across all production lines.

Lead the troubleshooting of major equipment failures, equipment accuracy calibration, and performance optimization. Manage new equipment introduction, selection, installation, and acceptance.

Develop optical inspection standards and SOPs. Conduct technical training and competency development for optical technicians.

Work closely with the Quality Department and customers to optimize optical inspection solutions and support customer audits.

Optimize inspection processes to improve inspection efficiency and reduce false call rates.

Job Requirements

Diploma or above in Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience as an Optical Equipment Engineer in server PCBA manufacturing or other electronics industries. Strong knowledge of SPI, SMT/DIP AOI, and AXI equipment principles, programming, setup, debugging, and troubleshooting.

Familiar with IPC-A-610 standards. Able to independently optimize inspection solutions, calibrate equipment accuracy, and manage new equipment introduction.

Proficient in written and spoken Chinese and English, with the ability to communicate technical requirements with customers. Strong problem-solving skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in managing 3D AXI / 3D SPI equipment.

Experience in developing and implementing optical inspection solutions for server products.
