Job summary

LINKWING CLOUD TECH MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. is seeking an SMT Equipment Engineer & Programmer/Technician to oversee the server motherboard SMT line, including programming, optimization, validation, and version control of pick-and-place programs.

You will calibrate equipment and troubleshoot major faults to maintain peak performance. You will lead new equipment introductions, manage spare parts, train technicians, and collaborate with Process Engineering to optimize manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Diploma or above in Mechatronics, Electronic Engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years as SMT Equipment Engineer in server PCBA or electronics manufacturing.
• Proficient with high-speed pick-and-place machines from Fuji, Yamaha, or Samsung.
• Knowledge of solder paste printers, reflow ovens, SPI, and AOI; SMT processes for server motherboards.
• Able to develop and optimize machine programs, lead line changes, and introduce new equipment; fluent in Chinese and English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical management of all equipment across the SMT production line, including programming and version control of machine programs.
• Perform equipment calibration, optimization, and troubleshooting; maintain preventive maintenance procedures.
• Lead selection, installation, commissioning, and acceptance of new equipment; manage spare parts and inventory to improve OEE and utilization.
• Provide technical training and develop SOPs to strengthen team capabilities.
• Collaborate with Process Engineering to optimize manufacturing processes and resolve equipment issues.
• Optimize pick-and-place programs to improve placement speed and reduce rejection and wastage.

Job description

SMT Equipment Engineer & Programmer / Technician

1. Oversee the technical management of all equipment across the server motherboard SMT production line, including programming, optimization, validation, and version control of pick-and-place machine programs.

2. Perform equipment accuracy calibration, performance optimization, and troubleshooting of major equipment failures. Develop and maintain equipment preventive maintenance, repair, and operating procedures.

3. Lead the selection, introduction, installation, commissioning, and acceptance of new equipment. Manage equipment spare parts selection and inventory to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and equipment utilization.

4. Provide technical training and develop the skill sets of SMT technicians. Establish equipment-related SOPs and technical standards to strengthen team capabilities.

5. Collaborate with the Process Engineering team to optimize manufacturing processes and resolve equipment-related technical issues during production.

6. Optimize pick-and-place programs to improve placement speed and accuracy while reducing component rejection and material wastage rates.

Job Requirements

1. Diploma or above in Mechatronics, Electronic Engineering, or a related technical field.

2. Minimum 3 years of experience as an SMT Equipment Engineer in server PCBA or other electronics manufacturing industries. Proficient in programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing high-speed pick-and-place machines from Fuji, Yamaha, or Samsung.

3. Strong knowledge of solder paste printers, reflow ovens, Solder Paste Inspection (SPI), and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment, including their operating principles and setup procedures. Familiar with the complete SMT process and manufacturing standards for server motherboards.

4. Able to independently develop new machine programs, optimize line changeovers, perform major equipment overhauls, and manage new equipment introduction. Proficient in written and spoken Chinese and English.

5. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and technical problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex equipment-related issues.

Additional Remarks

Candidates with experience in managing SMT equipment for server motherboard production lines, optimizing programs across multiple production lines, and introducing new equipment will be preferred.
